The Monkey King: Quest for the Sutra In 2001, Andy Lau's NMG production company produced another television adaptation of Journey to the West. Cheung was given a chance to once again portray the role that made him a household name. The series was broadcast in 2002 on TVB.

AwfulCustomer Review Rated Bad 0 - 0 out of 10
This was such a disappointment, when I first got this series I was very excited as I was looking forward to Dicky being in this role again. I was bitterly disappointed when he never got the chance to complete the TVB Journey to the West which was terrific. This was a waste of time, space and money, Dicky as ever was commited and made it at least bearable, but the original/traditional story line was changed making it rubbish, and the acting was rubbish (by most of the actors/attresses).
Dicky has wrongly accepted to make this movie as it is a huge waste of talent, and it is even worse as he has said he will never perform this role again meaning we will miss out. Again it makes you think that if TVB had agreed terms with him then the Journey to the West production could have carried on with Dicky starring, but sadly this is not the case.
Anyway, don't bother with this series, its pathetic.

Monkey KingCustomer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I love how they twist the story line because this is perhaps the only version which I will see monkey king falls in love. However, I dont think they should make it a sad ending where one of the twins died b/c after all it a kid story and kid may not understand. I think I remember reading that somewhere. This would be great if the ending isnt like that.

Dicky is COOL.!This film is better than Magic ChefCustomer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Please does anyone know what's the title of the sad theme song throughout the film? who sings it?
at first I thought it's Dicky but doesn't like it when I carefully listen to it again...
you know the song when Dicky is waiting for the Charlene's flower to be blossom and he decided to turn back to his original form (a big rock)
please let me know thank you very much! ;)

Waste of talent!Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
Well, the best was Journey To the West I with Dicky Cheung. This was awesome. Journey To the West II was disppointing because Dicky was not in it but overall Benny Chan was not too bad. The stories were not as creative as the first part. But this one, it is a waste of talent for Dicky. The whole point of this series is for the young kids and young teenagers and the acting was bad, bad, bad...and at time really uneventful...

Is this recommended?Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
If you read the reviews you would be forgiven if you where none the wiser about this series i.e. is it good or is it bad? The reviews either showed people loving it or hating it. I've seen it and I think its safe for me to summarise as follows. If you like pretty stars looking pretty and doing cute things -picture the twins looking all cute and saying a couple of cutie cute lines to their cute male counter parts who in return say or do something cute back, THEN you will like this. IF however you like a series to have a strong plot, a captivating story line and ultimately a point to the whole story then please please I beg you, save your money and get something else (if you want a monkey magic series then do a search for Journey to the West). My self personally? I thought it was a pile to rubbish.

Almost perfectCustomer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
This is one of the most memorable tv series i hav ever watched. just wish tat i can watch it again. This version is so much different from the previous ones. You'll see our Monkey God fell in love this time. It's really great 2 see many fresh-looks in this series, though a few of them can't really bring the character very lively. anyway, good effort. Charlene did a good job!!!

series (quest monkey king) Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
i think this is the best series i ever watch my favouite characters has to be the monkey cause he is cheeky but clever my other one has to be the piggy cause ough he is fat abd always hungry but he is also funny, the thrid is sandy, sandy is clever at making and think other stuff of how to make thing and he is also good-looking and final the buddist monk he is slightly boring but as he is a god and that his powers maynot be good but he is the best and he is the best singer in the series when he sings the song! one question why in this film and also in journey to the west of part1&part2 you always put the snake character into a baddy and that is not fair snake are not always but i am the year of the snake
